i REALLY like the additions you made to the "Single Abbreviated Element" 
aspect of

i have been searching in vain since the topic re-arose for my proposal
for how DFN could be used in conjunction with ABBR to provide a re-use
mechanism, and your exposition and investigation of the possibilities
are concise, coherent, and cogent -- 3 things i personally have trouble 
attaining...

thank you, rob -- you have a unique skill set that the WG has yet to 
fully appreciate, but which is greatly appreciated by those of us with 
whom you've engaged in dialog and discussion are quite cognizant of 
your superior communication skills and your consensus building approach 
to collaborative work...

and that goes for the rest of y'all too -- it is indeed an honor (if
not actually a "pleasure", given the nature of the work) to have such 
colleagues -- it goes a VERY long way to keeping this pessimist's HTML5 
glass half-full!
