Don't understand !  Are you suggesting that the list
behaviour be changed (so that replies go to the original
sender, and that the only way to cc the list is to
do so explicitly ?).  If so, (a) I don't agree (far
too much work for everyone, and to no benefit that
I can see, and (b) can't see what it has to do with
the issue of how to inform the list of a message
that has appeared on another list (which is the
issue I was trying to address).

If I've misunderstood, please clarify what you meant in
the three lines cited above.
