Agree with all that follows :-)  One suggestion :
"increase networking in an open arena" reads as
pure jargon  to me -- could we express it in plain
English, perhaps as

"foster constructive dialogue" (stet) "and encourage
  the sharing and exchange of ideas in an environment
  entirely free from hostility"
